How does the Facet FP work?
The FP models are differentiated by the GNSS engine inside that contains the GNSS receiver. Each FP model comes fully assembled with the chosen module, ready to be turned on and put to work.
If a new GNSS receiver gets released down the road or you decide that you want something different out of your equipment, you don’t have to buy a whole new device — just a new module.

FAQs
Please read our FAQs page for more general help.
Is assembly required for the Facet FP?
Great question, your Facet FP will be shipped to you fully assembled based on which model you choose. If you later decide to upgrade or switch the GNSS engine inside of your Facet FP then there will be a small amount of assembly.
Watch our video on how to switch out your GNSS engine.
When will new GNSS Engine options be available?
Short answer: It depends.
It depends on when new GNSS technology provides meaningful advantages.
The Facet FP currently supports three GNSS Engine options with the follow GNSS Modules:
- Quectel LG290P
- u-blox ZED-X20P
- Septentrio mosaic-X5
These engines were selected because each offers a distinct combination of performance, features, and price point. Our goal isn't to offer as many GNSS Engine options as possible—it's to offer options that solve different customer needs.
As new GNSS modules become available, we continually evaluate them for inclusion in the Facet FP. However, we likely won't introduce a new GNSS Engine unless it provides a meaningful benefit over existing options, such as:
- Improved positioning performance
- New capabilities or features
- Better power efficiency
- Enhanced signal tracking
- A significantly different price-to-performance profile
If a future GNSS module offers compelling advantages, we'll certainly evaluate it for inclusion in the Facet FP lineup.
Is my warranty void if I open my Facet FP to make an upgrade?
No, as long as there are no other modifications made to the device your warranty will stay intact.
What is Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS)?
Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) is a free satellite-delivered correction service that helps compatible GNSS receivers improve positioning accuracy.
The SparkPNT FPL versions support Galileo HAS, allowing users to take advantage of this modern correction service alongside traditional RTK workflows.
Watch our video guide to learn more about Galileo HAS and how it can be used in your applications.
