For engineers and organizations that depend on precise timing and frequency synchronization, oscillator performance matters. Today, we're excited to introduce the SparkPNT SXT-D, our most advanced GNSS Disciplined Oscillator (GNSSDO) and frequency reference platform.
Built around the industry-proven Septentrio mosaic-T timing receiver and a high-performance Double-Oven OCXO, the SXT-D is designed for applications where frequency stability, holdover performance, and long-term timing accuracy are critical.
Whether you're synchronizing telecommunications infrastructure, operating precision test equipment, supporting quantum research, or building resilient timing networks, the SXT-D delivers a deployable, production-ready timing solution that bridges the gap between traditional GNSS timing receivers and expensive atomic clock systems.
What Is the SXT-D?
The SXT-D is a multi-frequency, multi-constellation GNSS Disciplined Oscillator that combines:
- The Septentrio mosaic-T timing receiver
- GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou support
- Encrypted L-band correction capability
- A disciplined 10 MHz frequency reference
- Event timestamping better than 20 ns
- Ethernet, USB, and remote management capabilities
- A high-performance Double-Oven OCXO
Like all SparkPNT timing products, the SXT-D ships in a rugged enclosed system designed for deployment rather than development.
Why a Double-Oven OCXO?
The primary differentiator of the SXT-D is its oscillator.
While standard GNSS timing systems derive long-term accuracy from satellite signals, short-term stability and holdover performance are determined by the local oscillator. The SXT-D uses a Rakon STP3593LF Double-Oven OCXO to provide exceptional frequency stability, low aging, and outstanding temperature performance.
This allows the SXT-D to maintain a highly stable frequency reference even when GNSS signals become unavailable. For applications where synchronization must continue during GNSS interruptions, oscillator quality can be just as important as receiver performance.
Designed for Timing-Critical Applications
The SXT-D was built for engineers who require more than basic GNSS timing.
Typical applications include:
Telecommunications and Network Synchronization
Maintain synchronized clocks across distributed infrastructure while reducing drift and improving resilience during GNSS outages.
Quantum Computing and Research
Provide highly stable timing and frequency references for experiment synchronization, qubit control, and scientific reproducibility.
Metrology and Test Laboratories
Generate a precise 10 MHz reference suitable for calibration, measurement, and verification systems.
Financial Services and Compliance
Support traceable timing and accurate timestamping requirements for latency-sensitive operations and regulatory compliance.
Critical Infrastructure
Deploy authenticated, spoof-resistant timing solutions for systems where trusted time is essential.
Unlock Top-of-the-Line Performance with AtomiChron®
The SXT-D is ready for Fugro AtomiChron® timing corrections out of the box.
Using encrypted L-band broadcasts, AtomiChron enables:
- Better than 1 ns timing accuracy
- Authenticated timing corrections
- Operation without an internet connection
- Improved frequency stability
- Global correction coverage
This allows organizations to achieve timing performance that was previously associated with significantly larger and more expensive timing systems.
